Ever feel like you're spending a fortune buying gifts for children's birthday parties? It's great that parents want to celebrate the child's birthday and it makes the children feel special, but those birthday presents really start to add up. It seems that all kids want these days are expensive video games and other electronic gadgets.
Fortunately, you can make up some great inexpensive gift baskets for children. In fact, most of the items that you'll put inside them can even be found at your local dollar store!
How about trying a:
*Beach Basket. Take a sand pail and fill it with toys that the child can use at the beach. Shovels, sand molds and floatie rings are all great for this basket.
*Coloring Basket. Buy a couple of coloring books and put them in a box with some crayons or markers. If you want to really save money, you can often find websites with free coloring pages for children. Print them out and make your own book.
*Games basket. Put several small games into a canvas bag. This is great for a family that takes a lot of road trips. Don't forget to include a deck of cards and a book of card games!
*Craft basket. Find out what craft activities the child enjoys and make a basket filled with things that can help them to make their craft. This could include beads for jewelry, clay for molding, or fabric for sewing.
*Personalized basket. Kids just love anything that has their name on it. So buy several small items and handwrite the child's name. This is especially good for a child who has an unusual name and may not be able to normally buy things with his or her name written on them.
The great thing about these is that children love to receive many gifts. Even though the baskets are inexpensive, the children perceive them as being worth more because there are so many small things inside.
